This Thursday, March 2, at 3 PM at the Auditorium of the Matisse Museum, 164 Avenue des Arènes de Cimiez
The aim of Alex Benvenuto, a historian passionate about his city, is to present us with a new perspective on the evolution of Nice between 1917 and 1954. Nice as it could be perceived by Matisse, in his incredible artistic journey, but also in his daily life, like when he dined with Jules Romains, Maeterlinck, and Stefan Zweig, in the fragrant alleys of Old Nice described by his friend Apollinaire.
This lecture is like a kaleidoscope of information allowing one to broaden their perspective by becoming acquainted with the environment of a work to better understand it. Stepping out of the frame to see it better.
