Investments in mobility serve the Department’s ambition to improve travel conditions for the residents of Maralpin and, more generally, their quality of life.
โWith nearly 3.5 million daily trips, our road network needs to be streamlined, secured, and adapted to new uses by developing bike lanes and intermodal connections,โ emphasized Charles-Ange Ginรฉsy during the presentation of this plan.
This project’s objective is to structure road networks and diversify travel conditions across the territory.
This multi-year plan will total nearly โฌ500 million over 7 years, divided as follows:
- โฌ376 million for road infrastructures (including โฌ180 million for the reconstruction of roads destroyed by Storm Alex): to enhance and streamline access to Sophia Antipolis, complete the second phase of the Vallauris bypass and the Paoute link, or eliminate various access bottlenecks to the highway at Mandelieu, Mougins, or at the exit of the Mathis road in Nice.
- โฌ28 million to rehabilitate the Tende tunnel: the reconstruction of the valleys, following Storm Alex, notably the Roya valley whose connection with Italy is heavily constrained, will continue both by restoring existing infrastructure and assisting in the complete restructuring of the Tende tunnel at the border, under the project management of ANAS (the Italian company responsible for the road network).
- โฌ50 million for the new Provence-Cรดte dโAzur railway line: the expansion of the rail network is also a key issue.
- โฌ45 million for cycling facilities: to enhance the attractiveness of this mode of transport, with the creation of 90 new kilometers of bike paths by 2028.
