The Alpes-Maritimes Department, in partnership with the Chamber of Agriculture, is launching the “06 à Table!” platform.
Dedicated initially to the collective catering of middle schools, and in the future extended to nursing homes, daycare centers, etc., this platform will enable the development of fresh and local product supply, aiming to boost and assist the agricultural producers’ activity in our region.
Introducing local and quality products into canteens, managing the budget, adhering to nutritional recommendations, and pleasing children, is possible.
This measure represents a significant challenge for the agricultural sectors of the Department. Six middle schools have already committed to this approach, representing more than 3,300 meals a day.
For Eric Ciotti, “we must think about the health of our children above all, consuming locally also supports the agricultural activity of our territory. It’s a virtuous cycle.”
