On March 16, a 16-year-old teenager stormed into Tocqueville High School in Grasse, armed and determined to kill about ten of his classmates whom he could no longer stand. He injured five people, including the principal, Hervé Pizzinat, who had tried to reason with him.


His composure was praised by everyone: he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor by the Minister of National Education, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, on Thursday, April 6.

“Yes, your action, your commitment, your person deserve the Legion of Honor,” stated Ms. Vallaud-Belkacem.

“It is with emotion that I receive this medal, I dedicate it to all the students and staff of the school and to the National Education as a whole,” responded the principal, with 34 years of service.

A tribute full of emotion and sincerity. This distinction is applauded by everyone.
