The President of the Region will present, during the visit to the municipal nursery in Nice, the Regional Plan for the Preservation of Palm Trees, which will help support local communities in their experimental, innovative, and preventive approaches to preserving palm trees.
Christian ESTROSI affirms his commitment to support the municipalities in their efforts to combat the red palm weevil to save the palm trees. Indeed, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, nearly 20,000 palm trees are infested by this insect, which first appeared in the Var region in 2006 and now colonizes the coastal strip from Carry-le-Rouet to Menton, thus impacting the natural heritage and urban landscapes.
