The season for the Niss’Angels is becoming complicated after this home defeat against Lyon (48-54).
In a tense match, Lyon pulled ahead in the second quarter (21-8) and managed to maintain their lead after the break. Djéné Diawara (11 points, 14 rebounds) and Lauren Ervin (9 points, 12 rebounds) stood out on the Lyon side. On the Nice side, no player surpassed the 10-point mark (9 for Diawakana).
Two defeats in the two play-down games clearly show the weakness of a Nice team that is unable to demonstrate its potential.
The relegation group should have been a formality for a team that could benefit from its lead in the “direct” standings, but the Nice players have chosen the longer path to achieve their goal.
