OGC Nice Handball: A Successful Debut in the Coupe de France

Latest News

For their debut in the Coupe de France this season, the Aiglonnes secured a confident victory against Toulouse (23-35).

The season is fully underway. With 22 teams divided into six groups, where only the group winners will earn a place in the round of 16, OGC Nice entered as favorites before facing a Toulouse team that was coming off two consecutive defeats in D2 (10th place after three rounds).

The Turning Point of the Match

After a closely contested first half, the turning point of the match occurred right at the start of the second period: within five minutes, the Niรงoises widened the gap with a six-goal streak against the Haut-Garonnaises, who could not respond (10-14, 10-20). Julie Legatindji, captain of the Toulousaines, stated: โ€œYes, clearly, we had a major lapse. Fortunately, we still managed to react afterwards.โ€

A reaction far from sufficient given the final score, but a display of determination until the end of regulation time is worth highlighting. On the stat sheet, Dieneba Sy finished as the Aiglonnes’ top scorer with eight goals, closely followed by Tena Petika and Sitha Laureen Dembele, each with 6 goals.

OGC Nice is set to face Besanรงon at home in the championship next Wednesday. Join us at 8:30 PM at the Charles Erhmann Sports Hall.
