After the capital, Nice is often mentioned when talking about culture. Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and a fervent supporter of this initiative, delivered a speech full of hope for the Cรดte d’Azur during his address at the opening ceremony.

The Book Festival takes place from June 2 to 4 with the theme, the Mediterranean. The gardens of Albert Premier welcome authors, actors, and other literature enthusiasts. 200 authors are present and spread across several stands.

The Nice Baie des Anges prize was awarded to Barbara Israรซl for her work, Saint Salaupard. The honorary presidents of this edition included Paule Constant from the Goncourt Academy and Dany Laferriรจre from the French Academy. The artistic director, Franz-Olivier Giesberg, also expressed his thanks and steadfast support for this cultural event.

A wide selection of old or modern books is available, and activities for children are also organized. Multiple activities will be available to the public: theater meetings, short story contests, conversations with great authors, a space dedicated to the Mediterranean, and many other surprises to discover throughout this literary event.

It is a festival that represents optimism and hope, and both young and old are invited free of charge.
