An encouraging start to the year and an increase in tourism see the streets of the Cรดte d’Azur become lively and bustling for the summer of 2017. According to Denis Zanon, director of the tourism and convention office, Nice wants to regain its fundamentals and appeal.
His speech launching the summer season to tourism professionals was complemented by the presence of Rudy Salles, MP for Alpes-Maritimes and deputy mayor.
A very promising report for our 2017 carnival, it was in Xiamen, China where Nice’s floats paraded and colored the streets this year. This greatly publicized and enhanced the image of our Azurean culture.
Several new features to discover:
- The French Riviera Pass (a dematerialized addition).
- A travel journal to create for vacations, with online offers for everyone.
The most anticipated summer events:
- Italy-Uruguay match – June 7
- Festival Crossover – June 8 to 11
- Legends match – June 17
- Italy at the table – June 9 to 11
- Giacometti exhibition – June 23 to October 15
- School(s) of Nice – June 24 to October 15

Plenty more events are to be discovered on the website of the Nice tourism office.
Finally, the fireworks on July 14 will not take place. Instead, 86 lanterns will be launched on the evening of the national holiday.
However, on August 15, a dazzling and extraordinary fireworks display is planned.
A season that promises to be busy and full of surprises, enough to revitalize and boost the economic, tourism, and cultural activity of Nice.
