Interview: Lunehiver, a Promising Young Artist from Nice

Latest News

Lunehiver, a rising star on the Nice art scene, recently unveiled his latest EP, embracing pop melodies: โ€œAnรฉmoia.โ€

Nicolas Muratore, better known as “Lunehiver,” is a young artist from Nice who is 20 years old. He juggles his engineering studies and music. For the past five years, he has been creating melodies, a passion that recently found its expression in his second album, “Anรฉmoia,” released on March 22. Composed of four tracks, it is now available on all streaming platforms, offering an immersion in the world of this young singer from Nice.

What does your artist name “Lunehiver” mean?ย

โ€œI took a long time to find this name. It has many meanings. When pronounced all at once, it reminds you of the “universe” around us. Itโ€™s also a combination of two words “Moon” (Lune) and “Winter” (Hiver). Additionally, there are other subtle meanings within, such as the placement of letters in the word, but thatโ€™s a bit more personal.โ€

Why did you choose to pursue a career in music?ย

โ€œBefore I became interested in composing, I wrote down a lot of my ideas. I started when I entered high school because I needed to put some of my thoughts on paper, and I found that interesting. I began with poems, and then I thought, why not try to sing them?โ€

What were your sources of inspiration for creating your album “Anรฉmoia” and the song “I Saw You Smile”?ย

โ€œI like to put a lot of my personal experiences into my songs while sometimes adding some fiction to amplify the emotions. I had quite a bit of inspiration. I really wanted to release a project. I was keen to make something very pop, very marketable, so to speak. I chose the word “Anรฉmoia,” a word that doesnโ€™t really exist, but that could represent a memory, the nostalgia of a time that no longer exists. In particular, the song “I Saw You Smile” tells the story of a young man walking alone in the rain who spots someone he hasn’t seen in a long time.โ€

Which artists or bands do you like and who have influenced you?

โ€œAt the beginning of my journey, I was greatly inspired by and listened to a lot of Maxence Lapรฉrouse. More recently, there have been artists like Orelsan, Lomepal, and most recently Pierre de Maere, whom I particularly appreciate.โ€

What are your expectations for this EP and your future career?ย

โ€œI have many interests, including music, but I place great importance on my engineering career. Music is a real escape for me, and if it could become a bigger part of my life, I would be delighted to incorporate it into my daily routine. “Anemoia” is the first step in a series of small albums I plan to release in the coming years to create a project with continuity. I fully intend to continue making songs and trying to reach as many people as possible. I am currently working on a new album, and I hope to release something for the summer or just after the summer.โ€
