The national drawing competition “Heritage of France, get your pencils ready!”, organized by the VMF association (Vieilles Maisons Franรงaises Patrimoine), is intended for students in grades 4, 5, and 6.
Participating schoolchildren had to create a poster of a building, monument, or a known or unknown site that is representative of their region’s heritage. More than 6,000 students took part in this project, offering a wonderful illustrated journey, discovering the heritage of the French regions.
The 4th-grade class from Saint Philippe School, taught by Mr. Pรฉpiot, won the special award “Grand Prix VMF Education 2017,” awarded by the jury in May. The students chose to depict the Promenade des Anglais on their poster, thus paying tribute to the victims of the July 14, 2016 attack.
