The Refugee Food Festival is returning to Nice for its second edition, which this time extends to the County of Nice, from June 12 to 16, 2024.
It is an international culinary event that has previously been organized in 12 cities in France (Paris, Marseille, Nice, Lyon, Bordeaux, Lille, Strasbourg, Nantes,…) as well as around the world (New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid…).
The previous edition organized in Nice was a success. The 7 establishments that collaborated with this event helped refugees settled in Nice and its region to develop their employment integration projects in the food service sector.
The 2024 Edition
This year, the festival will be held from June 12 to 16, with the goal of making gastronomy accessible to the maximum number of people. This second edition is based on creating pairs between chefs or culinary artisans and refugee cooks who wish to share their culinary heritage. Festival-goers will have the chance to enjoy tastings at the different participating establishments, restaurants, and food businesses that will take part.
The Refugee Food Festival is committed to bringing people together through culinary art. It aims to change perceptions, accelerate the professional integration of refugees, and contribute to the dynamism of the food service sector which lost 237,000 employees in France since the COVID-19 pandemic.
