Yesterday evening, a fire in Bouches-du-Rhรดne caused a complete halt to rail traffic in the departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes.
The fire, which burned more than 240 hectares near Aubagne, has had serious consequences. Beyond the damage it caused locally, including four minor injuries, it also had significant repercussions on the rail system of the neighboring departments. As a result, thousands of passengers were stranded at stations, particularly at Nice-Ville.
More than 3,000 passengers spent the night in various stations throughout the network. This morning, even more people were waiting for the trains to finally run. It was a little before noon when traffic was able to resume.
