On Sunday, September 24, from 10 AM to 6 PM in the heart of the village, La Colle-sur-Loup will meet its past: immerse yourself in the Provence of yesteryear for a day! Experience the highlights that make this festival an unforgettable moment: demonstrations and activities of ancient trades, hands-on workshops to rediscover the products of the past, traditional music and folk dances, artisans’ market, Provençal skits, old-fashioned games… Along with many new features that will punctuate this day!
People of all generations, Collois and visitors alike, rediscover each year at the end of summer with nostalgia and fascination the daily life of their ancestors. From the blacksmith to the schoolmaster, including the knife grinder or the washerwomen, about fifty ancient trades are showcased in the preserved environment of the village.
For this 25th edition, “La Colle Autrefois” will transport visitors out of time for a day of discovery, relaxation, and pleasure, punctuated by workshops, activities, skits, and strolls.
This edition’s program includes many new features to discover: the automaton mill, street skits of the Saltimbanques, traditional jam-making in an authentic cauldron, the barber stand… not to mention the activities that have made the event famous: the reenactment of an old-fashioned wedding with its procession and bridal banquet, children’s old-fashioned games, the presentation of 1900s fashion, and even the recreation of a guinguette (an outdoor drinking establishment).
