After the start of the season last weekend, with a spectacular performance of Tchaikovsky’s “Pathรฉtique” conducted by the new musical director Gyorgy Rath, the Philharmonic resumes the tradition of organizing outdoor concerts in the city.

This weekend, Saint-Roch square on Friday 6th at 6 PM, then the Arรจnes de Cimiez on Sunday 8th at 5 PM, will benefit from this opportunity.

At Saint-Roch, under the direction of Marco Vezzoso, the OPN, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, offers an unexpected program that will surely delight a large audience as it consists of a medley of film music and jazz standards.

At the Arรจnes de Cimiez, the concert will begin with Beethoven and the overture of his Coriolan. Another overture follows: that of Rossini’s Siege of Corinth. Then Glรผck will be honored with the Dance of the Blessed Spirits, an excerpt from Orpheus and Eurydice. The concert will continue with the symphonic poem Prometheus composed by Liszt, the adagio Spartacus by Khachaturian, and finally, it will conclude this musical afternoon with Offenbach and the overture of Orpheus in the Underworld.
