From July 6th to September 8th, come and discover the exhibition “you were not chosen” by Marine Foissey at the Museum of Photography.
An engaged photographer, Marine Foissey uses photography not only as a means of artistic expression but also as a platform for powerful discourse and marked stances. Her works, imbued with irony and lucid derision, transform the illusions of self-love into a multitude of alter-egos.
Foissey, through her imagination, puts herself in the shoes of others. This approach creates a particular dimension. In her exploration of femininity, she creates territories that are both surprising and hostile. The photographer uses photography as a means to reject reality.
Her work is a quest, oscillating between a hell and an earthly paradise. This duality softens a certain brutality and spices up a world where anything is possible. Foissey’s creations are aesthetic and existential insurrections. They thus offer an escape from the real world and its superficial appearances.
