This Wednesday, October 25th at 6:30 PM at the Maison des Associations, Place Garibaldi, presenter Christian Loubet

Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) broke away from the comforts of a bourgeois life to seek the “lost paradise” of his childhood at the ends of the earth.
In Tahiti, he tried to express, under the tropical light, the essence of an innocent humanity in the forms of a plastic synthesis. Through the upheavals and hardships of his life, he managed to fulfill his desire. However, he barely understood the aspirations of the Polynesians and could not avoid going through moments of tragic solitude. Recognized after his death, he inspired the Moderns (Nabis, Expressionists) and the Fauves (Matisse and Picasso).
