The group “Another Future for Nice” requests the inclusion of the Court of Auditors’ report on Euro 2016 in the agenda of the next municipal council meeting.

The elected officials from the group “Another Future for Nice,” in a letter dated October 27, requested that the Mayor of Nice include in the agenda of the next City Council meeting the report from the Court of Auditors on Euro 2016.

Strange… indeed, after the event, the Mayor of Nice boasted that the economic return (ticket sales and various other aspects) generated more than 170 million (the Sports Law and Economics Center of the University of Limoges had indicated the figure of 72 million).

For the opposition elected officials, “indeed, this report highlights a number of malfunctions and refers to potential financial risks faced by the city.”

The Allianz Riviera is deemed oversized by the Court of Auditors. Uncertainties linger over the subsidies granted by the CNDS.

Moreover, the amount of the fee paid by OGC Nice is deemed insufficient by the Court and could be interpreted as a disguised subsidy to a professional club.

For Patrick Allemand, Paul Cuturello, and Christine Dorejo, “so many questions deserve a debate in the City Council.”
