Latest News

The exhibition on the artist Raoul Dufy can be discovered at the Jules Chรฉret Museum of Fine Arts until September 2025.

Throughout the various rooms on the first floor, the museum highlights Raoul Dufy’s artistic journey. Starting from Luxe, Calme et Voluptรฉ by Henri Matisse, and passing through inspirations from Paul Cรฉzanne, the artist takes us on a journey under the sign of color. Under the inspiration of great artistic names, we perceive Raoul Dufy’s touch and his plastic research. One can find the entire diversity of his work, notably his work on patterns and tapestry. There is also work around engraving and bestiary.

A journey through Dufy’s work

The rooms are thus organized with a passage from these beginnings, continuing towards his work as an illustrator/decorator. We observe all his research around the figure of the artist’s studio. We also find his passion for the sea, oscillating during his life between the English Channel and the Mediterranean. The exhibition concludes with lively notes on musical themes that could already be found earlier. One can particularly discover the festivities of Nice during that time, captured through the artist’s brush strokes.
