The city of Nice, which organizes the Nice Baie des Anges Prize, is calling for applications to join the jury. This literary prize, awarded during the Nice Book Festival 2025 (May 30 – June 1), honors a French novel published in the year preceding the event.
Each year, the Nice Baie des Anges Prize brings together writers and readers around contemporary French literature. Sponsored and funded by the City of Nice, it is awarded by a jury composed of recognized personalities: Franz-Olivier Giesbert, its president, Paule Constant, Irène Frain, Didier van Cauwelaert, Laurent Seksik, Jean-Luc Gagliolo, Aurélie de Gubernatis, and Nicolas Galup. Each of these members selects a novel for the competition.
To strengthen this group, a jury of ten readers from the region is formed. These avid readers will discover the eight finalist novels on March 13, 2025 during a meeting in Nice. They will meet again in May to choose the winner. The award ceremony will take place on Friday, May 30 at the Book Festival.
Application Procedures
Residents of the Alpes-Maritimes who are interested can send their application until February 10, 2025. An email should be sent to c.giraud@mpocom.com explaining their motivations. Applicants must provide their complete contact details: mobile number and postal address.
Those selected will be required to attend both meetings scheduled for March and May. Former jurors from 2023 and 2024 are not eligible for this edition.
This call offers a unique opportunity to get to the heart of literary selection and actively participate in one of the highlights of the Nice Book Festival.
