Poor home blunder by Nice, who, after a marathon match lasting nearly 2 hours, to be precise 1 hour and 59 minutes, were defeated by Ajaccio 3-2.
The course of the match was not as expected: it was the Corsicans who took the lead right from the start (two sets to zero, 25-17, 25-18), before Nice regained control and brought it to a tie (25-21, 25-22).
The tie-break, played point by point, favored the visitors (15-13), led by a spectacular duo, Timothée Carle (22 points) and Jose Luiz Gonzalez (23 points), who thus achieved an unexpected and valuable victory.
Ajaccio thus secured their second five-set victory away, in Nice (2-3).
For Nice, the 21 points from Tupchi and the 17 from Bartos were not enough.
