Concert dedicated to Niccolò Paganini

Great public success for the concert dedicated to Niccolò Paganini at the Carlo Felice Theater on October 27th, part of the Paganini Festival in Genoa. The evening was filled with emotions, featuring the great conductor Daniel Smith in the dual role of conductor and ambassador of Australian culture in Italy. This young musician, who has already achieved significant artistic success, has a great love and deep knowledge of the “Bel Paese,” which has long been his second homeland.

Excitement soared with the appearance of the “Cannone”: Paganini’s famous violin, escorted by high officials of the City of Genoa, was presented to the young violinist Anna Tifu. A winner of the prestigious George Enescu International Competition in 2007, she is considered one of the best performers of her generation. Ms. Tifu’s extraordinary performance was an immediate success with the audience.

The first edition of the Paganini Festival concluded under the best auspices for the creation of an ever-growing international festival, akin to the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.

It is an event intended to be cultural, yet open to all, in a city like Genoa, still waiting to be fully discovered.
