The Alpes-Maritimes department highlights its producers and agritourism at the Agriculture Show. This participation showcases the Cรดte d’Azur’s local produce and enhances the region’s appeal.
The International Agriculture Show, a major sector event, is featuring 26 producers from the Alpes-Maritimes this year. Located in pavilion 7.1 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, these farmers and artisans showcase their expertise to visitors.
Truffle growers, fish farmers, saffron producers, and other local professionals engage with the public. Their stand is positioned near a central kitchen, a place highlighting local products. The goal is to promote the local produce and draw visitors to the region.
The Alpes-Maritimes department relies on the “Cรดte d’Azur France” brand, bringing together local producers and businesses. This initiative is part of the Agricultural Plan implemented by the department, under its GREEN Deal policy.
The rise of agritourism
The presence of the Cรดte d’Azur at the Agriculture Show also highlights agritourism. More and more visitors are seeking authentic experiences with producers. In the Alpes-Maritimes, they can meet beekeepers, olive oil producers, breeders, and winemakers.
The agritourism offer is structured around various activities: hiking with donkeys in Valdeblore, camping in the Nice Colorado, immersion with cheesemakers in Mercantour, or fishing initiation in Menton. The department and Cรดte d’Azur France Tourisme encourage this trend to attract an audience in search of nature and local discoveries.
A large-scale promotional initiative
Since 2018, the “Cรดte d’Azur France” brand has supported local producers and businesses through a licensing program. Today, around fifteen businesses and nearly 200 products carry this signature in fine food, fashion, and craftsmanship. The royalties generated contribute to the promotion of the territory.
“Cรดte d’Azur France Tourisme is participating in the International Agriculture Show this year with a clear ambition: to highlight the rich Cรดte d’Azur’s produce and establish the Cรดte d’Azur as a must-visit destination for agritourism in France,” explains Alexandra Borchio Fontimp, president of Cรดte d’Azur France Tourisme.
This participation offers increased visibility to Cรดte d’Azur producers and enhances the department’s attractiveness. It reminds us that the Cรดte d’Azur is not limited to its coastline. The region also boasts a rich rural and gastronomic heritage.
