Last weekend, our six valiant players from Nice traveled to Laval to compete in the first leg of the French Men’s Torball D2 Championship. It was an adventure full of challenges, but our Eaglets managed to rise to the top of the podium.
Despite a journey filled with obstacles, including last-minute vehicle changes, Bernard, Franรงois, Mirlind, Philippe, and Souleymane, accompanied by their coach Sรฉbastien, arrived in Laval on Friday, February 21, ready to compete.
A Strong Comeback
The start of the competition was tough. A tight first match against the Bien Hรชtre team (from the Paris region) ended in a draw 4 to 4 due to an own goal in the last minute. However, our players from Nice quickly bounced back, winning their second match against Laval with a score of 10 to 6.
After a two-hour break, our players continued their momentum, defeating the Voir team (from the Nantes region) 9 to 3. To cap off their day, they crushed the Brest team 13 to 4, thus confirming their position as leaders in this first phase of the championship. ANICES is particularly proud of the efforts made by its players and their coach, who demonstrated exceptional mental strength.
Remarkable Results and Performances
In addition to leading the championship, our team from Nice has earned the title of best defense. Here are the individual achievements of our players:
- Philippe: 2 goals
- Bernard: 3 goals
- Souleymane: 6 goals
- Mirlind: 11 goals
- Franรงois: 13 goals
