Exhibition “Save the African Elephants” at Parc Phoenix

Latest News

The Phoenix Park offers, until February 25, 2018, a photography exhibition “Save the African Elephants” organized by the SEA association.

The aim of this photographic exhibition is to raise awareness among as many people as possible about this animal cause. The elephant is indeed hunted for its ivory and suffers particularly from a lack of access to water.

Significant dangers threaten this iconic animal and the heritage of terrestrial biodiversity: disease, ivory trafficking, reduction of natural habitat, issues of coexistence with local populations, environmental conditions, regional conflicts. There are 350,000 African elephants, and in 10 years, they will have disappeared.

The exhibition reveals the immense task of rescuing elephants undertaken by The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT). Located in Kenya across four centers on lands leased from the state, 350 employees work daily thanks to private funding and sponsorships.
