Latest News

On October 15th, the city of Nice launched a new vaccination campaign. It targets seasonal flu, Covid-19, and the human papillomavirus (HPV). The goal is to make these vaccines accessible to all residents, regardless of their age or situation.

The Hancy vaccination center, located at 10 Hancy Street, is offering walk-in sessions starting today. In addition to the mandatory vaccines (DTPolio, whooping cough, MMR, hepatitis B, meningitis), vaccination against Covid-19 and seasonal flu is available for free. HPV vaccination is also covered.

Covid-19 vaccination primarily targets vulnerable individuals. It is recommended for people aged 65 and over, those with comorbidities, pregnant women, and immunocompromised individuals. Residents of nursing homes and caregivers in contact with at-risk persons are also targeted.

Anyone can receive a booster dose six months after their last injection or infection. People over the age of 80 can receive this booster after three months. The vaccine used is adapted to the JN.1 variant, which is currently the most prevalent.

Mobile teams are on the move

Seasonal flu vaccination is strongly recommended for people aged 65 and over. It is also accessible to anyone over two years old. Mobile teams visit the homes of vulnerable, sick, or elderly people who are unable to travel.

The campaign against HPV is offered to fifth-grade students. Meanwhile, the Hancy center offers vaccination to children and adolescents aged 11 to 19. Two doses are required for those aged 11-14, and three doses for those aged 15-19. This vaccination is free and available without an appointment, but parental authorization is necessary.

This campaign aims to enhance the protection of the residents of Nice against these viruses while simplifying access to healthcare. The Hancy center remains open from Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Friday until 3:45 PM.
