From October 23 to April 14, discover or rediscover the collections of the Matisse Museum through the lens of Yves Klein’s works.
The Matisse Museum
A key location on the Cimiez hill, the Matisse Museum hosts the artist’s works in a vast space of rooms. It has now been 70 years since Henri Matisse passed away. It is an opportunity to delve into one of the most important collections in the world. On the one hand, it consists of donations made before the artist’s death and posthumous bequests by Amรฉlie Matisse, as well as donations made by the children and heirs. The collection includes diverse works, presented with a fresh perspective each year during temporary exhibitions.

Yves Kleinย
The Matisse Museum and the MAMAC (currently closed) come together in this collaboration between the two artists. Eight works by Yves Klein are featured in this display for a new relationship with those of Matisse.ย
In a walkthrough of several rooms, you can find works such as Blue Nude IV from 1952 by Henri Matisse or Untitled Anthropometry (ANT 84) by Yves Klein from 1960. Both works are part of a continued artistic exploration of the body. Both are captivated by the color blue.ย
Blue Nude IV (1952) is part of a series of four nudes and is extremely fragile. Therefore, this work is presented in an exceptional manner, notably within the context of this exhibition.
