From November 28 to 30, 2024, the Espace Grappelli at the AnimaNice Cimiez center will host the second edition of Festi Jazz. Three evenings of concerts to discover passionate artists and diverse musical worlds.

Nice was the birthplace of the world’s first jazz festival in 1948. With its now-famous festival, the city maintains a special relationship with this musical style. The Espace Grappelli, a site dedicated to culture, will continue this tradition. Festi Jazz follows this dynamic by offering a program that is accessible and open to all.

The Berthรฉ Trio offers contemporary jazz influenced by major figures like Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau. Between arrangements of standards and original compositions, their music explores various influences, from classical music to film scores. This ensemble from Nice delivers a rich acoustic experience full of nuances.

Friday, November 29, at 8:30 PM: Swing the Ladies
Swing the Ladies blends retro jazz and modernity with an electro-swing style. The band revisits classics from artists such as Amy Winehouse and Ray Charles, while adding original touches from French and Italian songs. Eight musicians, powerful vocal harmonies, and a communicative energy promise a lively evening.

Saturday, November 30, at 8:30 PM: Thomas Galliano Quartet
With the project Walking Towards The Unknown, Thomas Galliano draws on his experiences and varied influences to compose jazz rooted in reality. His quartet offers a fusion of music, allowing room for improvisation and personal expression from each member.
