**In Monaco, bookstores are scarce. But recently, in this space that has been empty for nearly four years, Arthur Laure and his partner decided to address this absence by placing their books to launch **_La Bookinerie_**.**
Located in the [Jardins d’Apolline](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Les+Jardins+d’Apolline,+1+Prom.+Honor%C3%A9+II,+98000+Monaco/@43.7323216,7.4146393,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x12cdc28d4433adb3:0xd75a8db881ca141c!8m2!3d43.7323216!4d7.4172142!16s%2Fg%2F1ydph3kqv?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDkwMy4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D), the modern and sleek decor of **_La Bookinerie_** catches the eye. A few days after its inauguration, the shop is already making a name for itself. The concept is appealing, surprising, but above all, it brings a breath of fresh air to the Principality. While Monaco could only rely on large shops or its media library, the **café-bookstore** is set for success. Recently opened, the place is already promoted by both local media and teachers.
## A Bookstore for Everyone
Although freshly opened, the [bookstore](https://www.nicepremium.fr/culture/la-librairie-jean-jaures-accueille-les-fans-de-friends-pour-une-dedicace/) currently has a hundred books among the thousands expected. Today, nearly **600 books** have been delivered to the store, enough to keep the booksellers busy with the tedious work of sorting and arranging by category, author, and alphabetical order on each shelf.
A **bookstore for everyone** where the founders reveal, _“we wanted anything but an elitist bookstore; for us, education happens through reading, hence this **wide selection of books**.”_ An intergenerational space where development and instruction prevail in a world where new technology occupies almost every moment. Over the month, the shelves will gradually fill up.
Among the books you can find **novels of all kinds** (detective, science fiction, romance…) as well as **children’s books**, **manga**, and **board games**. Depending on the seasons and major periods such as Christmas or Halloween, the place will offer adapted books. The bookstore also offers reading-related items, bookmarks, reading rings, mugs… a perfect opportunity to give book lovers something they will really use.
## More Than Just a Sales Point
To stand out from ordinary bookstores, the manager unveils a more attractive concept thanks to the café area. Not only a sales point, but it is also primarily a **place of exchange** for interested or more passionate individuals, _“for us, the goal is of course to advise our readers but also to get their feedback on other books.”_ Although passionate about their work, the booksellers cannot read all the books in their shop, which is why **their clients’ opinions are more than welcome**.
In this cramped but well-arranged room, tables arranged here and there allow customers to sit around a drink while leafing through the book just purchased. Coffee, kombucha, healthy and natural drinks, a place of relaxation combining **reading and conviviality** where both children and adults gather around their favorite beverage, thus promoting exchange.
In order to promote the bookstore, several **events** will be organized throughout the year. The goal is to make this bookstore a place of exchange, sharing, and friendliness. You can participate in **book clubs, literary cafés, and meet-the-author sessions**. The couple of booksellers is already planning a collaboration with the principality’s media library and has already sought out teachers to obtain the school curriculum books for this year.
**_La Bookinerie_** opens its doors from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 7 pm and on Saturday until 4 pm.
