The Nice Saint-Isidore exit No. 52 on the A8 will be closed in both directions during the night of April 22 to 23 for signage work. Users will have to use exits 51, 54, or 55 to reach the Var plain or Saint-Isidore.
The Nice Saint-Isidore exit No. 52 on the A8 highway will be closed during the night from Wednesday, April 22 to Thursday, April 23, as announced by Vinci Autoroute. The measure initially concerns the direction towards Italy, between 9 PM and at the latest 5 AM. This closure allows for the completion of signage and maintenance work on the roadway. In the opposite direction, exit No. 52 is also closed between 11 PM and 3 AM for road surface painting work. Traffic remains open on the highway, but without the possibility of exiting the A8 at Saint-Isidore during these periods. Users are encouraged to plan their journey in advance and use neighboring exits.
Detours and Preferred Routes
Several alternatives enable avoiding the closure depending on the direction of travel:
Towards Italy (exit closed from 9 PM to 5 AM)
- Exit No. 51 – Nice Saint-Augustin / Promenade des Anglais Join the RM6202 via the Mathis route or the Promenade. Direct route to the Var plain and the Saint-Isidore area.
- Exit No. 54 – Nice-Nord Descend towards the Var plain via the thoroughfare. A longer detour but smooth in overnight traffic.
Towards Aix-Marseille → Nice (exit closed from 11 PM to 3 AM)
- Exit No. 55 – Nice La Plaine Ascend towards the Allianz Riviera stadium and the Saint-Isidore neighborhood. A natural alternative for arrivals from the west.
- Exit No. 54 – Nice-Nord Reach the Var plain via the thoroughfare if exit 55 is too far.
Since both closures are scheduled at night, traffic should remain smooth. The simplest option is to aim for exits 51, 54, or 55, depending on the direction of travel, then reach the Var plain via secondary roads. These routes allow avoiding any blockage around the Saint-Isidore exit during the A8 highway works.
