A few weeks before the start of Ligue 1, OM and OGC Nice have added an unexpected fixture to their summer preparation. The two clubs will face off this Saturday, July 25 at 6 p.m. at the Robert-Louis-Dreyfus training center in Marseille.
No official announcement accompanied the scheduling of this match. However, the match appears on the Ligue 1 calendar. The closed-door organization responds to security requirements, in a context marked by rivalry between the two clubs.
The fixture also comes a few days after the announcement of legal proceedings initiated by OGC Nice against OM’s sporting director, Grégory Lorenzi. During the Nice president’s return press conference, Maurice Cohen confirmed this decision: “The club wants to be respected. We don’t get handouts.” Before clarifying: “He signed his contract and then changed his mind. We decided to take him to court. We’ll have the first hearing in September.”
