The authorities identified shortcomings in several areas related to safety and public reception conditions. Fire safety, electrical installations, hygiene and health safety are notably affected.
The closure will remain in effect until the establishment is brought into compliance with regulations.

The decision was announced by Éric Ciotti, mayor of Nice and president of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. In a message published after the inspection, Éric Ciotti stated: “ Plage des Canailles, on the Promenade des Anglais, will be subject to administrative closure. The inspection carried out yesterday evening revealed serious shortcomings in fire safety, electrical installations, hygiene and health safety. Customer safety and consumer health are non-negotiable. We will continue these inspections with the utmost firmness. “
For its part, Plage des Canailles also communicated about this closure. On its Instagram page, the establishment states that it must close to carry out “ mandatory technical work and autumn cleaning. “
No reopening date is specified at this time. The resumption of operations will depend on bringing installations into compliance and adherence to applicable regulations.
This closure comes as the city of Nice continues a series of inspections in shops and establishments open to the public. Several administrative decisions have already been made during the month of September for various reasons related in particular to hygiene and safety.
