On the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Marinières Beach in Villefranche-sur-Mer will host the 5th edition of Marinières en Rose on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2026. Open water swimming, aquathlon, solidarity march and children’s races are on the program for this weekend organized for the benefit of women affected by breast cancer.
Marinières en Rose are back in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Organized by Team Lafage Organisations and the city of Villefranche-sur-Mer as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event will bring together participants of different ages for two days around several sports activities.
Created in 2022 in tribute to Isabelle, a victim of breast cancer, Marinières en Rose have already raised over 26,000 euros. In 2025, over 500 participants took part in the event and over 11,000 euros were collected.
For this fifth edition, 100% of the funds raised will be donated to the Princess Grace Hospital Center (CHPG) in Monaco. The funds will help finance supportive care for patients with breast cancer.
Sophrotherapy, yoga, massage and music therapy are among the accompanying treatments. Funding can also allow the purchase of wigs or adapted undergarments. These treatments complement medical treatments and are not reimbursed.
Activities for all ages
The program will begin Saturday afternoon with the Rade Relay. This open water swimming event will be contested by teams over three times 500 meters. Children aged 2 to 12 can then participate in the P’tits Roses.
Sunday morning, the Rade Crossing will offer two open water swimming distances, over 1 and 3 kilometers. The Pink March will then take over, before the two aquathlon formats, the Mini-Rose and the Maxi-Rose.
The various activities allow you to participate according to your wishes and abilities. Women, men and children are invited to take part in this event whose objective remains linked to fundraising for patients.
Patricia Plessis, founder of Marinières en Rose, points out that « all funds raised are donated for supportive care at the CHPG in Monaco. I really wanted to support these treatments, because treatments save lives, but they exhaust you physically and psychologically. These support systems are important aids that allow us to stay strong, to preserve our dignity as women and to find the physical and mental strength to fight. So I sincerely hope to see you by our side: it’s an event for everyone! Come spend time with us, together we are stronger! »
The initiative is also supported by Century 21 Lafage Transactions and its president Benjamin Mondou.
Online registration is open until Wednesday, September 30 on the Marinières en Rose website. Registration will also be possible directly on site on October 3 and 4, subject to availability.
