On the French Riviera from Nice to Cannes via Villefranche-sur-Mer, several events are organized in October as part of Pink October. Awareness of breast cancer screening, sports activities, prevention workshops and health meetings are scheduled throughout the month.

The 2026 Pink October campaign returns today in the Alpes-Maritimes. In Nice, the city and several partners are offering events from Thursday, October 1st to Thursday, October 29, 2026. The program combines information on breast cancer screening, prevention and sports events.

At the departmental level, several initiatives complement this programming. Villefranche-sur-Mer will notably host the Pink Marinières on October 3rd and 4th. Cannes will also offer several highlights, including the Pink Night of Forville on October 3rd and the 20th edition of Odysséa on October 25th.

Screening, prevention and sports events in Nice

Two workshops dedicated to breast cancer screening are planned in Nice on Thursday, October 1st and Wednesday, October 14th, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The first will take place at the Delvalle Medical Center, at 27 rue du Professeur Delvalle. The second will be held at the Heart of Nice Center, at 17 rue d’Italie.

These meetings will notably address those concerned by organized screening, the age at which it is offered, its frequency and its importance in early disease detection. The workshops are free. Registration by email is requested at ateliersmm@ville-nice.fr, with limited places available.

On Sunday, October 4th, it will be time for the Pink Run and Pink Walk. The start and finish will be set up in front of the Verdure Theater. The village will open at 8:30 a.m., before a musical warm-up at 8:50 a.m. for the 7-kilometer race. The start will be given under the arch.

A 5-kilometer walk is also planned. The warm-up will begin at 9:50 a.m., before departure at 10:15 a.m. Registration is open with SOS Cancer du Sein.

Prevention will continue in the child and parent welcome centers of the city of Nice. Workshops dedicated to self-examination will be offered to parents, with the French Cancer League. Creative activities will be organized in parallel for children under 6 years old.

Three events are scheduled: Monday, October 26th at 2:30 p.m. at LAEP La Marelle, Tuesday, October 27th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at LAEP L’Île des enfants and Thursday, October 29th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at LAEP Les Petits Loups. Registration is done directly with the facilities.

Several Nice monuments will also take on a pink hue during the month. The facade of the main town hall, the Head of Sosno, the Tower Bellanda castle and the greenhouse of the Phoenix park will be illuminated. A pink ribbon will also be installed at Place Masséna.

The Pink Marinières and Odysséa on the Cannes program

In Villefranche-sur-Mer, the Pink Marinières will take place on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th at Marinières Beach. For this fifth edition, open water swimming, aquathlon, solidarity walk and children’s races are on the program.

Created in 2022 in tribute to Isabelle, who died of breast cancer, the event has raised more than 26,000 euros since its creation. This year, all funds raised will be donated to Princess Grace Hospital Center in Monaco. The funds will help finance support care for patients, including sophrology, yoga, massages and music therapy.

In Cannes, the Pink Night of Forville will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., on Place de la Miséricorde. Several establishments on the square will participate in this third edition, with musicians, a DJ and a singer. Admission is free.

Another anticipated event: Odysséa Cannes, organized on Sunday, October 25th on the Pantiero Esplanade. This 20th edition will feature a timed 10-kilometer race, a 5-kilometer race and walk as well as a 1-kilometer race for children with “I Run for Mom”. Activities will also be offered in the village. A Pilates/Stretching class and a Zumba session will be available for free when picking up race numbers.

Remote participation will be possible from Monday, October 19th to Sunday, November 1st via the Odysséa app. Participants will be able to run or walk 5 or 10 kilometers from the location of their choice. However, this option will not provide access to the races organized in Cannes on October 25th.

The Pink October program in the Alpes-Maritimes will finally include a section dedicated to breastfeeding and breast cancer prevention. The 4th European Forum on Breastfeeding and Perinatality will be held on Saturday, October 17th in Cannes, led by the Mum Mood association. Doctors, scientists, healthcare professionals and families are expected to exchange information on scientific data related to breastfeeding and women’s health.
