Back this Sunday after a long break, OGC Nice welcomes RC Strasbourg for the 6th day of Ligue 1. After their first victory against LOSC, the Gym wants to definitively launch their season with this new home match. All the pre-match information for this fixture is to be discovered here.

Has OGC Nice finally launched their season? After their first league success against LOSC (2-1), Olivier Pantaloni’s players saw their budding momentum halted by the first long and endless international break 2026/2027. After three weeks without play, the Gym finally returns to the pitch and their home, the Allianz Riviera, this Sunday (kick-off against RCSA scheduled for 3 p.m.). While internationals were able to join their national teams during this forced pause, the rest of the red and black squad also had to be occupied during this downtime.

To not lose physical freshness, OGC Nice had scheduled a friendly match last weekend against Swiss second division side Carouge (Eagles won 1-0 with a goal by Isak Jansson). Olivier Pantaloni was able to rely on part of his squad to continue working, but also on the presence of several academy prospects to fill the absences. The Azurean club wants to put its youth back at the center of its project. In this regard, Roger Ricort and Maurice Cohen have completed the signing of promising Djelan Morana’s first professional contract. The left-back had made his senior debut during Nice’s defeat at Paris FC (0-3), at the beginning of September.

A near complete squad

Except for long-term absentees – Laurent Abergel, Moïse Bombito, Antoine Mendy – Olivier Pantaloni can be pleased to have his entire squad available before facing Strasbourg. Against the Alsatians, the red and black coach should opt for a lineup similar to the one that won against LOSC before the break. Hicham Boudaoui could make his return to the coach’s plans. Long announced to be leaving, the Algerian international had been sidelined at the start of the season with minimal playing time (four minutes played against Auxerre).

Since Strasbourg’s return to the top flight in 2017, duels between the two teams have been quite tight. In their last eighteen encounters, OGC Nice has won five times for six draws and seven Alsatian victories. The last Nice-Strasbourg league match also ended in a draw (1-1). At the time, Elye Wahi, just arrived on the Côte d’Azur, had scored his first goal in the red and black jersey. Struggling at the start of this season, we hope the Eagles’ number 11 will do it again this Sunday!

Across the way, RCSA occupies 8th place in Ligue 1 with a two-point lead over Nice. After a slow start to the season, the Alsatians found their rhythm under their new coach, Hugo Oliveira, before slipping before the break away at Paris FC and their former coach, Liam Rosenior (1-2). Like last year, Strasbourg had an eventful off-season with significant squad renewal and plenty of movement in both arrivals and departures.

Probable lineups:

Nice: Diouf – Abdelmonem, Ndayishimiye, Mandza – Clauss, Witsel (C), Coulibaly, Nkounkou – Hein – Amoura, Wahi

Strasbourg: Jorgensen – Antwi, Mitchell, Coulibaly, Oso – Reyna, El Mourabet (C), Sousa – Yassine, Ortega, Nanasi.
