The former Gym striker succeeds Johan Audel, who has been coaching the U15s since 2020. This appointment comes as OGC Nice is reorganizing its training center, with notably a new responsibility entrusted to Éric Cubilier in the recruitment of young players.
Johan Audel announced his departure from OGC Nice on his social networks. In charge of the U15s since 2020, the coach decided to turn the page after several years spent with the club’s young players.
« After several years rich in experiences and meetings, it is time for me to turn an important page in my journey », he wrote. The coach leaves his position with the satisfaction of having supported several young players in their progression to the professional squad.
Johan Audel notably mentioned « the feeling of duty accomplished and the pride of seeing the first players I accompanied cross the stages to reach the professional squad. » Without elaborating further on the reasons for his departure, the former coach also expressed the need to step back and devote more time to his family, his children and his loved ones.
Alexy Bosetti takes charge of the U15 R
To succeed him, OGC Nice has chosen Alexy Bosetti. Just retired from the field at 33, the former Gym striker now takes on the responsibility of the U15 R, currently in fifth place in pool B with nine points.
This new mission adds to his duties within the Elite group. Alexy Bosetti will continue his work with Julien Sablé, director of the Red and Black academy and coach of this group, particularly in supporting forwards and specific training.
Trained at Nice, Alexy Bosetti wore the colors of several clubs during his career, notably Tours, Sarpsborg, Laval, Annecy and Le Puy Foot. A figure of the Populaire Sud, the Nice native had announced the end of his career in a video published on his social networks, mixing emotion and humor to salute his journey and his attachment to the Gym.
Alexy Bosetti new cornerstone of OC Nice’s reorganization
This appointment comes during a period of evolution in OGC Nice’s sports organization. Since 2019, Éric Cubilier has belonged to the recruitment unit of the professional section. The former defender now has responsibility for training center recruitment, following the departure of Fabien Caballero, announced on September 22.
This evolution aims in particular to strengthen the links between the recruitment of young players and that of the professional team, while structuring their monitoring further. Born in Nice and having played for several French clubs during his career, Éric Cubilier knows Côte d’Azur football and had begun his professional career at the Gym in 1999.
With these changes, OGC Nice is evolving several responsibilities within its training center. The appointment of Alexy Bosetti as head of the U15s and the expansion of Éric Cubilier’s duties are part of this reorganization of the coaching and recruitment of young players.
