Several construction projects will disrupt traffic in the Alpes-Maritimes starting Monday, October 19, 2026. Nighttime closures are planned on the A8 motorway, particularly at the Menton and Nice East interchanges. The Promenade des Anglais, access to Monaco, and several departmental roads are also affected.

From this Monday, October 19, motorists will need to adapt their journeys on several routes in the Alpes-Maritimes. VINCI Autoroutes continues its maintenance and upkeep work on the A8 until October 30, 2026. Several ramp closures are scheduled between October 19 and 23, mainly at night.

At Nice East, heading towards Italy, the exit ramp at interchange n°55 will be closed for four nights, from Monday, October 19 to Friday, October 23, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Light vehicle drivers can access the motorway via the Nice North interchange (n°54). Heavy vehicles must continue to the La Turbie interchange (n°57), turn around to resume the A8 heading towards Aix-en-Provence, then exit at Nice East.

The Menton interchange (n°59) will also be subject to traffic restrictions. From Tuesday, October 20 to Friday, October 23, from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., the entry and exit ramps heading towards Italy will be closed.

Motorists wishing to reach Menton from the motorway must anticipate this closure and follow the diversions put in place. To access the A8 from the Menton area heading towards Italy, a route via the Roquebrune-Cap-Martin interchange (n°58) is planned. Diversion routes may vary depending on the direction of travel.

To the west of the department, the exit ramps at the Mandelieu Centre interchange (n°40) will be closed during the night of Wednesday, October 21, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers can use the Mandelieu/Cannes-La-Bocca exit (n°41).

These nighttime interventions are likely to cause slowdowns around the construction sites. Motorists are advised to check traffic conditions before departure and to respect temporary signage.

Promenade des Anglais, access to Monaco and departmental roads

In Nice, access to the Promenade des Anglais from the Boulevard du Mercantour, after the exit ramp from Nice West (n°50), will be temporarily closed during the night of Tuesday, October 20, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. This restriction is related to work carried out by the Metropolis.

At Cap-d’Ail, work carried out by the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur on the M6007 could also complicate travel to Monaco. A reduction in the number of traffic lanes is planned during the day, with possible disruptions during peak hours. Motorists using this route will therefore need to allow more time to reach the Principality.

In the Paillon valley, the Condamine tunnel, located on the RD 2204b, will be closed in both directions from Monday, October 19 at 9 p.m. to Friday, October 30 at 6 a.m., during the night. This preliminary work for the installation of signage panels requires the implementation of a diversion via RD/RM 2204, via Drap, Pont-de-Peille and La Pointe-de-Contes.

Traffic will be restored daily between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Passage will also be possible during the weekend, from Friday at 6 a.m. to Monday at 9 p.m.

Finally, weather conditions are causing another restriction in the Alpes-Maritimes. Access to the Col de la Bonette, on the RM 2205, has been closed in both directions since Saturday, October 17 at 8 p.m., starting from the Clos de Bousieyas, in the municipality of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage. The closure is maintained for an indefinite period due to unfavorable weather conditions forecast.

To follow traffic developments on the A8 motorway, users can consult the VINCI Autoroutes website, use its mobile applications, or listen to Radio VINCI Autoroutes on 107.7 FM.
