The night of June 14 to 15 was eventful in several communes of the region.
Indeed, there was a chase between the law enforcement and a van transporting a group of migrants who had crossed the Italian border. The van breached two police roadblocks, leading to a 40 km chase. The pursuit began in the Sospel area near Italy and ended in the Les Moulins district in Nice.
The police resorted to using their firearms, and two of the passengers were injured, one of them seriously, suffering a gunshot wound to the head. His prognosis is currently critical. The other three occupants of the vehicle fled.
Following these events, the public prosecutor of Nice, Mr. Bonhomme, has called upon the general inspection of the national police.
