Laure Ecard, this young basketball player from Nice, lost her life on the side of a road after returning from a basketball game with her club, Nice CO, on April 6, 2008. Along with her, Mr. Gilles Renard, who was coming to assist, also passed away. Three players from the club, Lola, Cécilia, and Marie were also seriously injured.
The FFBB entrusted the organization of an International Women’s U16 (Cadet) Tournament named Laure ECARD in NICE at the Leyrit hall on July 15, 16, and 17, 2010, with teams from France, Hungary, Sweden, and Turkey. Under the aegis of the Côte d’Azur League and the 06 Basketball Committee, the matches will take place at 6:00 PM and 8:15 PM over the 3 days. Entry will be free.
The city of Nice, the General Council of the AM, and the PACA Region will be partners of this international event.
