An unusual sight, a car was parked yesterday morning in the garden of the Masséna Museum. It wasn’t due to a violation but rather a generous gift from the Lions Clubs of Nice Etoile and Nice Méridia Eco-Vallée in support of the League Against Cancer.
This initiative, originally conceived by two well-known personalities, Gilbert Stellardo and Gilles Vessière, was supported by the two service clubs and made possible through the generosity of a local artist, songwriter Dédé Truqui. He produced a CD of Niçoise music, the entire proceeds from which were donated, allowing for the purchase of the car—a hybrid model, needless to say—which will be used for transporting patients, volunteers, and teams.
The handover of the keys took place in the presence of the Mayor of Nice, who commended this charitable action and noted that it deserves the recognition of all for those involved.
