The University Cote d’Azur is now among the 25 major French universities. An initiative that could allow the Cote d’Azur to host a university campus with international influence.
“We are just waiting for the signatures of the various ministries. A mere formality,” explains Frédérique Vidal, the president of the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, proud of the project.
The University Cote d’Azur includes 13 members. “The University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, SKEMA, and EDHEC which are business schools, but also the Nice University Hospital, the Cote d’Azur Observatory, and the National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation. Finally, a College of Art Schools which includes 6 schools, among them the ESRA and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l’Art Villa Arson,” enumerates the president, pleased with this initiative.
This major grouping strengthens the renown and visibility of the Azurian territory.
The IDEX University Cote d’Azur-JEDI project
The application for an IDEX/ISITE has just been submitted. The project? To enable the University Cote d’Azur to obtain the Future Investment Programs. “But the initiative’s main aim is to bring together all these entities of the Cote d’Azur, whether they are public or private, which have strong visibility,” specifies Jean-Marc Gambaudo, director of the University Cote d’Azur IDEX project.
The project called Joint, Excellent, and Dynamic Initiative (JEDI), is a challenge according to Stéphane Ngo Mai, vice president of Strategy and Development. He explains, “Today, 500 Azurian companies support the project. If we win this project, it intends to completely renew the relationships between research, training, innovation, and the territory.”
A beautiful initiative that could, in the long term, make the University Cote d’Azur a transdisciplinary university at the international level.
