Saturday, September 24th, the Forest Park of Carros celebrates its 15th anniversary.
On this occasion, the municipality has decided to organize a full day of activities and entertainment.
In 1996, an extensive renovation and expansion project was launched on this area, which was then just a vacant lot. A large-scale construction that was part of the new city’s redevelopment project.
Just a few steps from the city center, this natural space represents a real “green lung”.
Initially, more than €300,000 were needed to make the forest park attractive. Recently, the city invested an additional €200,000 to renovate sports and recreational facilities, install new games and gym equipment, and even create a discovery trail. Misters will also be installed to cool park users during periods of intense heat.
This festive day will allow the public to discover or rediscover the park.
It will take place according to the following program:
10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: Dust of the Moon show, a musical comedy for children and families
11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Discovery of the botanical trail
12 p.m.: Inauguration of a commemorative plaque in honor of Hassan Maftahi
Aperitif
12:45 p.m.: Forest picnic (bring your picnic, drinks offered by the city)
2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Sports and recreational activities / Introduction to ballroom dancing
4:30 p.m.: Birthday cake
5 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Creole concert
Throughout the day: information space on Carrosian associations, makeup workshop, botanical exhibition stand, refreshment stall, light snacks available on site, sweets, ice creams…
And surprise theatrical performances by the company Voix Public.
