The Nice à Vélo association is organizing the 4th edition of the Kidical Mass Nice, a festive and family-friendly bicycle parade. The event will take place this Sunday, February 2, 2025.
The Kidical Mass is more than just a bike ride. It is a convivial moment aimed at promoting active mobility and children’s safety in public spaces. This event, which gathers an ever-growing audience each year, helps raise awareness about the importance of suitable urban planning.
Under the slogan “Streets for all!”, participants will pedal along a route of about 5 km, guided by volunteers from Nice à Vélo. The parade will conclude at Jardin Alsace-Lorraine, where a bring-your-own snack will be organized.
“The fundamental principle of the Kidical Mass movement is simple: a city where children can move around safely becomes a pleasant and livable city for all its inhabitants,” notes Antonio Barros, member of the Board of Directors of Nice à Vélo.
A festive ride open to all
The event is free and accessible to all ages and skill levels. Children can participate on bicycles, balance bikes, classic scooters, rollerblades, or in trailers. Helmets are mandatory for those under 12 and recommended for everyone. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Before the departure, participants will have the opportunity to decorate their bikes and benefit from quick adjustments offered by Cyclotrope.
Since 2019, Nice à Vélo has been working to promote cycling mobility in Nice and advocate for a more peaceful urban environment. The association campaigns for reducing the presence of motor vehicles in the city and improving air quality.
