A blog for the Bishop of Nice

Latest News

As you may already know, Monsignor Louis Sankalé has been appointed Bishop of Nice, taking over from Monsignor Bonfils who is retiring to a well-deserved retreat.

This former HEC student, who was ordained as a priest on September 18, 1976 for the diocese of Marseille, is what one might call a cutting-edge cyber communicator. As proof, he has just created his blog which can be found online at:

Coming from diverse family roots ranging from France to South America and Africa, Monsignor Sankalé is part of this new generation that believes technology and faith are not separate but, on the contrary, can intermingle to ensure full communication between the religious body and the many faithful.

But what exactly is a “Blog”?

Historically, the first blogs were composed of lists of links with commentary. Then came various types of “personal diaries” published on the Web. Created by “simple” internet users, they consisted of entries written according to the mood of the day, sometimes including details of the authors’ private lives, or their reactions to their surroundings (discovering new sites, reflections on international news or the evolution of the Internet…).

sankaleblog.jpg Some are very close to the concept of “personal diaries”, sometimes illustrated with photos, and only discuss the life – sometimes private – of their authors. Others are simply daily successions of chosen external links, with little or no comments. Still others, on the other hand, narrate long stories over the days, with few external links. Many allow reacting to the published content, and even to each posted entry, creating a sort of permanent forum.

We invite you to discover this new virtual space from Nice which offers ongoing news from the Diocese of Nice as well as the bishop’s schedule and his latest articles.

Monsignor Sankalé, a new “online” Bishop for the city of Nice!
