The association that organizes the Château Festival is making a fundraising appeal, which we are happy to pass on:
“The cost of such an event is around 100,000 euros. To complete the budget for the 2019 edition, we are launching a crowdfunding site to successfully and sustainably host this great popular festival without entrance fees.”
The Château Festival, which will take place on June 29 and 30, is a major cultural and festive event in our region. Created by communist activists in 1946, it is a true popular festival, akin to the Mediterranean version of the Fête de L’Huma, held in the park of the Château hill, which overlooks both Old Nice and the port district.
It allows everyone to both engage in debates in a fraternal atmosphere, to encounter different cultures, and to attend high-quality musical performances of various genres, from punk-rock to jazz, reggae to electronic music, folk to afro-beat. This year’s festival will focus on ecological transition with a “Zero plastic waste at the festival” initiative.
