On the occasion of National Carers’ Day taking place this Saturday, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, took the opportunity to meet with carers and representatives of associations supporting carers.

Today, in France, there are nearly 11 million of them who regularly assist in performing part or all of the daily life activities of a relative who has lost autonomy, due to age, illness, or disability. The majority of carers, whose average age is 45-55 years, are active and must juggle workdays.

During his meeting with the associations, the desire to establish a Carers’ House was discussed, to provide carers with a resource center that gathers all the mobilized associations and the solutions they offer.

The Mayor of Nice agreed to identify a location in the coming months that would eventually accommodate this supportive and structuring facility.
