After a 4-day competition, the Gala of Champions concluded the 15th International Figure Skating Cup at the Jean-Bouin ice rink in Nice. Great skaters danced on the ice for the delight of our eyes. Adriana Hamui, a young Mexican, opened the ball.
Vladislav Tarasenko, the gold medalist in the junior men’s category, performed breathtaking tricks. Russian Alena Leonova, who won the 15th International Cup of Nice, also dressed in her shining attire. The silver medalist couple, Nicole Della Monica/Yannick Kocon, who competed for Italy, danced to the famous song by Il Divo: I Believe in You.
In total, 21 performances were given. Not to forget the legendary couple Isabelle Delobel and Olivier Schoenfelder, crowned world champions in 2008, who lit up the closing ceremony. For the 15th anniversary of the International Cup, the Nice Baie des Anges Association, organizer of the event, had plenty to be satisfied about. The Azurean city, which promotes ice sports, should be won over in 2012. It will host the World Figure Skating Championships.
