On the occasion of World Refugee Day, which will take place on June 20th, the association “Tous citoyens!” is organizing a citizens’ march on Sunday, June 23rd with the participation of 16 local partners (associations, unions, political parties).
“Fortress Europe lets exiles die at sea. Those who manage to reach our shores, our villages, and our cities encounter walls, barbed wire, camps, and an administrative process full of obstacles and violated rights.
Let us strongly reaffirm our values of solidarity and fraternity.
We wish to mark World Refugee Day 2019 with a large march through the city of Nice, a march to denounce the intolerable conditions faced by exiles, a march in tribute to all those who have died on their journey of exile, especially in the Mediterranean, a march for the free movement of people and the opening of borders.
From Rauba Capeu to Place Garibaldi, passing by the Quai des Etats-Unis, Place Massena, and Bd Jean Jaurès, we will walk together so that our humanity is not an empty word.”
The march will begin at 4 PM from Rauba Capeu.
