The Anatole Jakovsky International Museum of Naรฏve Art in Nice will reopen on Monday, January 6, 2025, after six months of renovations. These improvements aim to enhance accessibility and the visitor experience.

The construction, which began in June 2024, focused on accessibility for people with reduced mobility (PRM) and the enhancement of reception areas. An outdoor elevator will provide access to all floors of the museum. The restrooms, the shop, and the entrance gate have been redesigned to facilitate access. A staircase, located in the English courtyard, has been relocated to optimize circulation.

The animation rooms have also been renovated. These bright spaces will host activities accessible to all audiences. A mediator will guide visitors through these new installations.

A Global Transformation

During the closure, the museum team explored new mediation approaches. The “outdoor workshops” maintained a connection with the public. Mail art workshops were organized in nursing homes, independent living residences, and hospitals in Nice, reaching 310 participants.

The permanent exhibition’s layout has been redesigned. The collections focusing on naรฏve, raw, and singular art will feature a new display. The room dedicated to the sea, inspired by the work of Danielle Jacqui, will bring an unprecedented thematic touch. The temporary space, adorned with plant murals by Julie Sonhalder, will create a visual dialogue between the collections and the surrounding park.

The museum aims to remain true to its commitment to inclusion and innovation. Art and novelty enthusiasts will have the opportunity to rediscover this iconic place.
