A “CleanWalk” will be organized this Saturday at the initiative of six students pursuing a professional degree in event communication at the IUT of Nice Sophia Antipolis.
This project, named “Come&Clean,” is supported by the YouTuber and founder of the movement, Benjamin Carboni. The walk aims to clean up the beaches of Nice by picking up the litter found there. Each participant is given a pair of gloves, a bag, and a grabber before embarking on this great spring cleaning. Open to everyone, the event already has around a hundred volunteers who will start from Carras Beach at 2:30 PM. It will end around 6 PM with a waste sorting on Gambetta Beach and snacks offered to the brave participants.
The “CleanWalker” movement is an eco-responsible initiative launched in September 2018 on a national scale. Since then, 22 cities have organized similar walks with the support of several YouTubers. In Paris, 140kgs of trash were collected in December 2018.
